COVID-19 Quarantine Encouragement from Andre Reed

The 7-time Pro Bowl Receiver offers encouragement through trying times.

With all of us isolated in our homes, it’s comforting to know that as followers of Jesus, we are never alone. God wasn’t kidding when He said, “Don’t be afraid because I will be with you.”

COVID-19 Quarantine Encouragement from Andre ReedTo help remind us of God’s promises, we have reached out to our “Friends of The Yard”. This week, we welcome Buffalo Bill Hall of Famer Andre Reed!

Andre Reed, NFL HoF Class of 2014:

My favorite Bible verse is one that I wear on my wrist on my bracelet and it kind of defines me. It says:

Not only so, but we also find glory in our sufferings, and sufferings produce perseverance and character; and character produces hope; because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (Romans 5:3-5)

I think a lot of that resonates with me because my whole life has been about perseverance and building character. I have endured many difficulties and ups and downs. And we’ve got to realized that sometimes when things happen in life, there’s a reason for it. I mean, we always try to look at the aftermath of something going bad. Will good come of it? Will it continue?

But, we need to believe that the Holy Spirit – God – has a purpose. So, there’s a purpose for everything that happens to you, whether they be good or bad.

Sometimes when things are going good and you get a little too giddy, God has a way of bringing you back down.

But, when it’s bad and you may feel like you have no hope and you feel like you’re lost, there’s an underlying factor to what he’s doing…

IT’S ALL FOR HIS GOOD.

No doubt about it.
