COVID-19 Quarantine Edition with Donald Brown
With all of us isolated in our homes, it’s comforting to know that as followers of Jesus, we are never alone. God wasn’t kidding when He said, “Don’t be afraid because I will be with you.”
To help remind us of God’s promises, we have reached out to our “Friends of The Yard”, beginning with former NFL Running Back, Donald Brown.
Donald Brown, former Colts and Chargers Running Back:
I want to share a verse that’s been on my heart about the last seven to eight years; and it’s Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. But in all your ways, submit to Him and He will make your path straight.
And so for me – for the majority of my life – I put my trust in football. I put my trust in things of this world. I put my trust in people and in relationships; and those things don’t last. There’s only one thing that does and that’s God and God’s Word.
So, truly it’s helped me check myself to make sure that I’m constantly putting my faith in Christ through this journey. It’s not always pretty and it’s not always easy, but it’s the one true thing and the one thing that lasts.
So, my encouragement to you is: Regardless of what you’re holding on to, make sure Christ is at the forefront. And He will provide and always will sustain you.
