Independence Day is the one day of the year when I’m legally allowed to blow things up. A little childish, maybe, but setting off fireworks excites me like few other things in this world.
But, if dynamic power unleashed in a controlled explosion is what excites you – all you need to do is look in a mirror!
As Jesus said, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.” (Acts 1:8) As Christians, we have the dynamite-like power of the third person of the Holy Trinity dwelling right inside of us!
No matter what kind of hair day you’re having, YOU HAVE A DYNAMIC PERSONALITY!
How dynamic? Look at Peter’s example: From the time of Jesus’ arrest to just days after His assention, Peter was transformed by the Holy Spirit from a weepy coward into an oratorical dynamo, whose fearless preaching resulted in the birth of the Church as 3,000 people answered his call to place their faith in Jesus.
Likewise, Stephen, Paul and Barnabas were empowered by the Holy spirit. As were the Christ followers in Rome, Corinth, Ephesus and Thessolonica and pastors Timothy and Titus. Oh, and by the way, YOU are empowered by the Holy Spirit! Yes, little ol’ you. You have the power of the Almighty God right at your fingertips. You possess power – the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit.
