There’s an app available for your phone that will help alleviate the stress and anxiety of confronting your boss when it’s time to quit your job.  It conveniently sends a text message to your employer to “softly” deliver the news.  Now, while its original intention was to be a humorous gag app, many people are actually using it to deliver their resignations.

The Quit Your Job app takes users through a series of steps to determine why they are leaving and then accumulates the data to construct an “appropriate” text message for giving notice.

It’s creator noticed that despite all the advances in technology that surrounds us, up til now, we all quit our jobs in the same fashion that we have for the last 200 years.

Now, according to a reason survey, about 2.3 million Americans left their job last October, citing such reasons as dissatisfaction with career growth, compensation or simply feeling unrecognized.  Although, if feeling unrecognized is your reason for leaving, is a text message the most effective way to make your point?

Now, for those who would prefer something a little more personal, yet still something that takes the anxiety and stress of quitting your job off of your shoulders, we offer the Daren Streblow Comedy Show Automated Quit Your Job Service.

We’ll leave a voice message for your boss, telling him exactly how you feel in a personal way only Mad Libs could top!

Stand up comedian Dustin Nickerson calls into the show this week to talk about people who, through social media or just in general, constantly try to make their lives appear greater than they really are, or incessantly complain about how down and out their lives are.

Dustin is going against the grain on both accounts.  He’s determined to become the most average human being.  He’s like the Toyota Corolla of people.  If you think about it, nobody is embarrassed to drive a Corolla, but neither is anyone proud of it.  It’s all about self-actualization and contentment.  He’s the epitome of “If Target Built a Person”.  He’s not Macy’s… but he’s also no Wal-Mart.  If he were a soda, Dustin would be a Sprite.  You see, Sprite is no one’s favorite drink, but nobody actually hates it.

The prime example of this is when Dustin proposed to his wife and she replied, “At least it won’t be a bad marriage.”  (just abundantly average)

And finally, renowned comic Chonda Pierce joins the show to talk about her busy, busy life.  She’s been performing for nearly 20 years now, but before doing comedy, she worked at OpryLand, USA in Nashville as a Minnie Pearl impersonator.  From there, she found inspiration from Carol Burnett and began to spin her wheels and develop her craft.

She can still do a dead-on Minnie Pearl even today (very unimpressive to anyone under 40 years old).

Now, Chonda already boasts several gold and platinum albums, but recently, she received the honor of selling more albums than any other female comic… EVER!!  Ever humble, Chonda merely credits it to the post-vinyl, cassette and eight-track population boom.  There simply weren’t enough people around to but more of the truly great comedy albums and tapes.

But what she loves most is that people seem to buy her albums because they love her stories.  She concludes every performance with a message from her heart, and that seems to be what people appreciate most.  And that’s what encourages her even more than she might encourage her fans.
