Things (and people) aren’t always as they seem. That guy in an MLB jersey may just be a batboy, that grouch might be someone with a tender heart who has been wounded, and that homeless woman is indeed someone’s sister, daughter and maybe even mom.
As my dad says, when we realize that there is more to people than what we see, we can approach them differently – with more compassion, an open mind and heart, and maybe even help heal the brokenness that they have been through.
