The Forgotten Half of THE Greatest Story
This week, we celebrate Easter Sunday.
BUT, as you are about to hear in this PODCAST, today is infinitely, eternally so much more than that.
A day of incomparable significance.
“Christ IS risen. He is risen INDEED.”
But that is only half the story.
Ready to hear the other half?
Let’s begin by reading Acts 1:3
3 During the forty days after He suffered and died, He appeared to the apostles from time to time, and He proved to them in many ways that He was actually alive. And He talked to them about the Kingdom of God.
You see, when we take this historical account in relationship with Jesus’ words to His Apostles that we read in John 14:18-19, we see an amazing promise of what is yet to come:
I will come to you. 19 Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.
In John 14, Jesus promised that just as He was alive with them at that moment (present tense), they – and us, by extension – will live (future tense). When we view these words along with Acts 1, we see Jesus resurrected and proving Himself to be truly, ACTUALLY alive… after suffering and dying in public.
So, just as Jesus rose from the dead on the Festival of First Fruits, we will rise also!
…and that’s just the beginning of the other half!
