Why?

It is THE question that haunts each and every one of us.

Why?

Why do bad things happen to us? Why doesn’t God answer my prayers? Why did God let this happen? Why doesn’t God just fix this?

In this PODCAST, you WILL discover the answer.

Matthew 6:7-9

7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,”

The key to keep in mind is “expectations”.  We need to have correct, Biblical expectations when it comes to our perspectives on life and God.

Even Jesus’ disciples had misinformed, faulty expectations when it came to what God would do.  Peter’s expectations were so off target that he denied Christ and for a short time, walked away from his ministry and went back to fishing.

This, despite Jesus attempting to recalibrate their misinformed expectations when they were in the upper room on the night of His betrayal.  He knew that circumstances were about to shatter their expectations.  He knew they would doubt and despair.

You see, Christ says that it’s a universal fact that we will suffer in this life.  But, you can be certain that He has overcome this world, and so will we.  So, while He will not take all of our pain away nor solve all our problems, He promises to be with us through all our problems and endure all our pain along with us.  He promises His peace.  True, genuine, lasting peace.

That’s why He asks to pray in His name.  To partner with Him and welcome Him into our situations.
