Creating Balance of Work & Play
This week in the “Shed” is our tool of the week – Roy Inzunza!
Roy is the Founder & President of Squarepatch, Inc. Employee Services and the Corporate Chaplain of Hoehn Motors. His passion is to provide spiritual, emotional and relational resources to employees & corporations.
In this episode, Roy takes us behinds the scenes of what a corporate chaplain is and does. Roy gives us an inside peek at what today’s everyday worker brings to their day at work and how Roy helps the employees at Hoehn Motors navigate the complexities and challenges of life while maintaining healthy work rhythms. Roy also describes how he navigates his relationships with a variety of religions, ethnicities, and worldviews while maintaining deep empathy, care, and a shepherding heart.
Additionally, we got to discuss some of the differences between healthy and unhealthy workplaces and how we can help create healthier spaces in our own places of employment…i.e. how can all of us become “everyday chaplains” without the title or education?
We also took a unique turn in our conversation and discussed a topic “cultivating the art of playfulness.” What does playfulness look like in our adult lives and how might this be affecting us negatively or positively if we fail to cultivate or cultivate this rhythm?
Other questions we dove into:
- What is a chaplain and what is a corporate chaplain?
- What are tools a chaplain would use to create safety in the workplace to be authentic?
- What are things we can easily do to change the dynamics in our place of employment?
Other services Roy provides and coaches on:
- Spiritual Direction
- Pastoral Care and Counseling
- Pre-marital Counseling
- Weddings
- Funerals
- Baby Dedications
- Grief Counseling
- Crisis Counseling
- Relationships Counseling
- Spiritual Counseling (meaning, purpose, vocation)
