Deciding to jump and actually jumping are two different decisions. You see, someone can only tell what you believe by what you do, not by what you say. This principle plays out in frogs on a log as much as our decision to follow Jesus.

In this weeks podcast, Jay weaves together five toads on the log, tight rope walker the Great Wallenda, and the carp, trout and bass from last week’s podcast to illustrate how people often approach the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Then Jay introduces the 1 John Test of Salvation. These things ought to be at work in your life. If they are not, then there should be a red flag going up, prompting you to take a good look at yourself and the relationship you claim to have with God.

1) Do you have a deep relationship with God where you grow in understanding His holiness or is He just the Great Coach in the sky?
2) Is Jesus just a guy who lived 2,000 years ago or is He the man who died on a cross, conquered death for Himself and you, and has a continually growing relationship with you?
3) Do you read the Bible flippantly or is it progressively becoming the standard for which you make your decisions in life?
4) Do you have a progressive hatred of sin?
5) Do you behave a little bit more and more like Jesus?
6) Do you have a sense of conscience for your sin? If you can sin and not feel guilty about it, the Holy Spirit isn’t there.
