Why Christianity is Part of America’s Heritage

In America, a guy comes out on a stage and everybody bursts out in applause. You know why? It’s because we don’t know what else to do. For years, people would come out on stage and nobody ever gave us an option. We didn’t know what to do. Sometimes people would just stand there and stare at the guy, until one guy said, “I know… let’s hit ourselves!” And he began to clap his hands.
That’s what applause is – you are hitting your own body. Isn’t that weird?
But, you’ve never questioned it. You haven’t once sat there and said, “This is weird that we’re doing this.”
It makes me wonder: Would we have accepted anything? Do you think someone went through a lot of trial and error to figure out which part of the body to hit? Did they originally try hitting their own faces? Butts? Tops of their heads?
We don’t know.
The point is that applause, as we know it, is customary. And customs are something we have to be aware of. You have to constantly be aware of what you believe, because someone can tell you something long enough, you begin to accept it as truth.
Take, for example, the idea of Separation of Church and State.
People have told us that this separation is in the Constitution and we’ve accepted it. But, it has never been in the Constitution!
Thomas Jefferson and all his peers said that we want government out of religion and we want religion to be part of our heritage because this is what made America great!
Democracy. The people are supposed to rule. Not one judge who decides to implement his liberal agenda ideology on the rest of us. It’s a democracy. And if the judges are going to start getting political, then they need to be given term limits like politicians and removed if they are not going to listen to the Constitution.
