Were the Founding Fathers Really Christians?

Were the Founding Fathers and men who formed the United States REALLY Christians? Brad sat down with Constitutional expert, Rick Green, to get to the bottom of things.

Were the Founding Fathers Really Christians?Today’s “Daily Constitutional with Rick Green” centers around our Founding Fathers, their original intentions for the United States, and why any of that matters to life today.

If the Constitution is the governing document of the land, then we need to accurately interpret it. And, in order to do so, we need to go back and investigate the principles, ideals, and intentions of the people who wrote it.  Then, based on this solid foundation, our current laws will be more stable, even over 200 years later.

Many people assert that Christiainity had nothing to do with the decisions of our Founding Fathers, as most of them were deists. But, first we have to ask, “How do you know this?” Because when we look at what they said, what they did and what policies they set forth, 95% of the Founding Fathers were outspoken Christians. Some even say that “Christianity was the atmosphere they were breathing”.

Granted, there were perhaps ten of the 250 Founding Fathers who didn’t seem to live according to today’s Christian standards. But, even those ten were not atheists nor agnostics. They believed in God and that His hand is involved in our lives. And these self-evident truths made their way into our nation’s foundation.
