Reaching Others with Empathy and Compassion
- Sometimes we tell our life story based on what has happened to us in the past, but the story never stays there.
God will use your story to make a difference in the lives of others. I was amazed at the fact that the more I shared and became transparent of what had happened to me the more my healing deepened. When you reach out to others it certainly is rewarding and indeed, it takes the focus off of yourself!!
The world is falling apart, but we who are wise will recognize the times and rise up as His messengers of hope and unlimited potential! We will find freedom from the bondages of what has happened to us to shape our identity, and we will find new identity in Christ.
- “We have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).
The glory, the treasure in us, is the Lord. We are weak vessels and yet the fire of God resides in us.
Look inside yourself today my friends. How much fire is radiating in your life for Him? Do you bring light into the darkness of your world? Do you desire to find your personal path?
When we are in pain and stuck, we will seek to embrace anything available that will make us feel better, again and again…Only to come up still empty.
We just don’t want to feel pain. We try to fill ourselves with everything—people, food, work, ministry, anything–but the only One who can truly fill our every longing….and the vacancies in our hearts, is Jesus. And when we find that place of peace, it is amazing that he sends others your way.
- In our terror of vulnerability we become controllers. We tuck our true selves away behind walls of control. Sometimes we keep things shallow and safe, but in doing so we long even more for a joy we don’t feel and can’t seem to attain, because the control we walk in so carefully robs us of deep relational encounters with God or man.
Do you want an exciting life of adventure with God in these troubling times?
Ask God for adventure and surrender your life to Him and let go of control. Ask Him to show you what His plan is for your life. He does have a plan for you, as He is not a respecter of persons. It’s just that we don’t all surrender to it.
- We are confident that His plan for the future is a good plan and not evil.
- He is painting a new picture. Right now, that picture is in the beginning and its beauty is obscured from my view but I am starting to get a glimpse.
- My inheritance in Jesus includes having peace in my soul no matter what is going on in my life and as I walk toward my freedom, I walk toward who I am becoming.
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God? They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!” Psalm 139: 13-18 (NLT)
- For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 2 Cor. 3:17-18 (NLT)
- I hurt with those who have been spiritually abused, and hope that my experience of finding freedom to live in His grace will help them to walk away from judgment and condemnation from within church structure. I have found that there is nothing that is too difficult for the Holy Spirit to tackle in our lives. My mission is to be a vessel for the Holy Spirit to use to change lives, one life at a time, through the power of Jesus Christ. It is my gift, it is my passion, it is my privilege.
- True ministry is finding contentment in wherever God has put you in life, and allowing Him to use you in that place. Developing intimacy with Jesus requires that we press into His promises. This involves not just knowing in your head that He loves you, but knowing in your heart and your spirit, and letting Him become so personal to you and more real than your next breath. In Him we live and move and have our very being, and talk to Him about everything.
- He cares about every tiny detail in our lives, and delights when we discuss them with Him and trust Him for the impossible. It takes determination and courage to not settle for less than what He has given you, and that is Himself. He paid a heavy price for our freedom. And it requires faith to believe that He loves you more than you can ever imagine.
