When Jay, Scott and George went rafting that afternoon, no one could have predicted what would come next.
But before we consider what happened on the water that day, we need to know what happened in the months leading up to their rafting excursion – Scott had earned the right to throw his friend out of the boat. And George’s soul meant so much to Scott that he risked the relationship to make sure he knew the jeopardy that he was in.
Now flash forward years and years from George’s soggy, yet eternity altering, raft trip. We find Jay talking on the phone with Youth Pastor Scott. Scott’s nephew had just recently accepted Christ into his life and Scott and Jay reflected on what God had done in his, his nephew’s and George’s lives.
You see, you can tell what people believe by what they do, not by what they say. Scott threw his friend out of the boat to let him know how important this was.
You won’t do that unless you know the value of a soul.
