Epic adventures, intrigue, battles, sport, magic, romance, three acts with intricate conflict – these are what I’ve always considered the ingredients of a good story.
But when I think of the Bible, all that comes to mind is a heavy brick of a book full of strict rules with harsh and exclusive undertones and overtones. However, as I read it, I find it full of battles, drama, miracles, romance, adventure, intrigue… and that’s just the Old Testament!
As in the movie, “Live of Pi”, (spoiler alert), we find ourselves asking, “Which story do we prefer?” Do we believe the story without a loving God, without miracles, without the divine Gift of His Son to be our Savior from an eternity without God?
Which story to we prefer?
The one where humanity is offered a Savior, or the one without hope, and everyone is left to fend for themselves?
What if thie story didn’t end with the final page turn and continued in our lives today? What if the final act of redemption could take place in each one of our hearts?
Which story do you prefer?
