President Biden Will Recognize Armenian Genocide!
Hello everyone and welcome to Sovereign Artsakh. I am Michael Gavlak – a Christian in Hollywood focused on Armenia. And not just current day geopolitics of Armenia, but some events that happened a hundred years ago that are critical for all of us to understand. I know it’s kind of odd for me – a non-Armenian and working in Hollywood and being a Christian – to be focused on this, but it should make sense. I think most of you understand. But if you’re new to this channel, let me just draw your attention to this other youtube channel called Mahanology. I don’t know anything about who’s behind it, but they are generally focused on geopolitics. They’ve done a couple of decent videos addressing the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. This most recent one talks about what I’ve talked about here on my channel a couple of times: whether the current President of the United States will recognize the genocide. This is a pretty decent video. I’ll play the beginning of it:
The US President, Joe Biden will officially recognize the Armenian genocide, according to sources who spoke to Ian Bremmer for US-based outlet G-Zero Media, making him the first US President to do so.
So, that’s what’s been declared. It’s gonna happen. This video talks about what’s been going on, why the United States hasn’t recognized it because of issues with Turkey – our NATO ally, geopolitical complexities, and promises that were broken to the Armenians. But, they’re arguing that it’s gonna happen. And I encourage you to watch this because there’s a couple of little things that I want to draw your attention to: They refer to Ilhan Omar as a Republican. Somebody in their geopolitical research missed something and that’s kind of a big deal. I think Representative Ilhan Omar would laugh out loud if she heard of herself being referred to as a Republican. Then another interesting thing I want to mention: they’re talking about Woodrow Wilson back in 1920 drawing attention to the suffering of the Armenians and they refer to how he referred to it. They say “Poverty in Armenia. At the time, the word ‘genocide’ wasn’t in use yet.” So, in 1920, the word ‘genocide’ wasn’t in use yet. It’s a little misleading. There was no word for genocide yet. That word wasn’t coined until some 25 years later in the middle of World War II by Rafael Lemkin. Anyway, this is a good video. They are optimistic that it’s going to happen. I mean, they’re saying it’s a higher likelihood than ever. So, we’ll see. President Biden’s popularity is kind of dropping. He’s doing a few things that are unpopular. So, maybe this would be popular or maybe it’s unpopular; and that’s a reason for him to do it. I don’t know.
Next, let me just draw your attention to this article:
Artsakh Foreign Minister Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast Self-Determined Even Within USSR
Let me translate for those of you who don’t understand this. “Autonomous Oblast” just means a an autonomous zone. Nagorno-Karabakh, or Artsakh, is and has always been autonomous:
We have never been and will never be a full-fledged part of Azerbaijan. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Foreign Minister David Babayan on Thursday told reporters this, in connection with the remark that Armenia’s leadership, following the example of Syunik Province, actually recognizes the borders of the ex-USSR, and when asked what conclusions can be drawn from this.
“The question is not clear. First, the NKAO [i.e., Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast] self-determined even within the USSR. In 1991, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic [(NKR)] was proclaimed. The process was carried out in full compliance with all working laws of the USSR and the norms of international law. Therefore, to say that ‘the NKAO, NKR, Karabakh in general can be part of the present or of the Soviet Azerbaijan’ is wrong. We [Artsakh] have never been and will never be a full-fledged part of Azerbaijan. Everyone should understand that. But even in Soviet times, Karabakh had its statehood, and we were not subject to Azerbaijan directly in many domains,” Babayan said.
All right… so, Azerbaijan begs to differ. They’re laying claim to it now. And the reasons for that may be their newfound wealth.
I also want to draw attention to how horrendous this disparity is – that Armenians have been living in peace in Artsakh for centuries and Azerbaijan is now gloating at their military conquest this park that Ilham Aliyev set up. There’s a couple pictures I wanted to discuss. I was curious about this, and lo and behold, today Azerbaijan’s Park of Human Sufferings is intended for children. So, they’ve made mocking replicas of Armenian soldiers:
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia records that the ‘’Park-museum’’ of human sufferings opened in Azerbaijan is intended also for children, ARMENPESS reports the press service of the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia issued a statement, presenting some photos.
It’s mentioned that the park has been opened in Baku, ensuring maximal publicity and is extremely humiliating by nature, pursuing a goal to violate ethnic dignity.
This ‘’park-museum’’ openly confirms the policy of state-sponsored Armenophobia, hatred, racism and fascism of Azerbaijan.
So, I just wanted to show a couple of these pictures.
All right. Enough of that. I want to talk about Solomon Tellurian. I want to meditate on some of the discrepancies in Solomon’s prison diary versus his memoir. I want to read this line from after he had been confronted by a young Turkish gentleman. When he was being interrogated, they they found somebody who spoke to him in Turkish and Solomon pretended he didn’t speak Turkish. And then, later on, a few moments later, the the guard took him into another room and asks:
“Why did you kill Talaat Pasha?
“Me? Have I killed Talaat Pasha? Is this true?
“Yes, yes it is.”
“Is he already dead?”
“Yes, he’s dead.”
“Oh, what bliss!
This was written on April 8, 1915 – some three weeks after the March 15th assassination. And here, he’s acting like he didn’t know. There are a couple theories that I’ve mentioned to explain this. One is that the stress of the event that caused him to black out temporarily and not remember doing it. Another is the beating he took by the mob. It’s well documented that people that undergo physical trauma sometimes have temporary memory loss, even sometimes permanent memory loss. There’s another theory here. Keep in mind that he was in prison awaiting trial, writing down his recollection of events. He could be cognizant of the fact that these documents very well may be read – whatever he writes may be taken from him and so perhaps he is intentionally acting like he forgot. So, he doesn’t write anything down that’s incriminating. Now, I have an argument against that. I just wanted to say that, as i’ve been meditating on this and have been reading through it and noting a couple discrepancies and omissions, as well as things that he seemed to recall later that could be an explanation for why he omitted certain details. He had not yet gone on trial and he may have been very cognizant of incriminating himself if he was perfectly open and honest about every detail.
