COVID-19 Quarantine Encouragement from Darryl Strawberry

The former Mets, Dodgers & Yankee slugger offers encouragement through trying times.

Quarantine Encouragement from Darryl StrawberryWith all of us isolated in our homes, it’s comforting to know that as followers of Jesus, we are never alone. God wasn’t kidding when He said, “Don’t be afraid because I will be with you.”

To help remind us of God’s promises, we have reached out to our “Friends of The Yard”. This week, we welcome with four-time World Series Champion, Darryl Strawberry!

Darryl Strawberry, 8x All Star & NY Mets Hall of Famer:

Hello everybody. This Darryl Strawberry here. As we sit here and go through this very difficult time, I know everybody is walking in fear and a lot of worry with the coronavirus. But, I just want to encourage you through one of my favorite Scriptures – and I think I love all of them – but, Proverbs 3:5-6 says:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him

and He shall direct your path.

We are in the middle of a crisis. But, I would encourage you to take time out and trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

See, so many of us try to figure it out with our own understanding and think, “Well, what are men doing about it?” Man can’t do anything about it. It is the Lord that we have to trust. And, we need to fall into that place and understand trusting Him in all our ways, acknowledging Him, and letting Him direct our path, knowing that He has the perfect plan already laid out for us. As a believer, you have to stay encouraged at this time and you have to stay connected at this time. So many of us are disconnected, and we don’t get to the place of prayer. Prayer is the answer to all supplications.  You must pray and not worry about if the prayer will come to pass. Because God hears prayer from the righteous. And when you seek after Him and understand that you are righteous and in right standard with God, then He will hear you.

So, be encouraged even in the midst of the storm. It will pass. But, you must trust in the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 is the verse. If you don’t know about it, pick it up and let it empower you at this time that we are dealing with.

Bless you guys! Good to be with you, and love you. Stay encouraged. Jesus loves you!
