Demons, Angels and Ghosts

All Out War is a podcast dedicated to all things related to theology, culture, and politics. This week, Rosie and Turner discuss the stranger things of life – connecting to the Bible – all in the spirit of October.

Topping off our discussion are trends in the occult, which often seems to circle around sexual immorality.

Demons, Angels and GhostsNow, in the Bible, the prophet Ezekiel tells us that Satan deceived a third of God’s angels and led them into rebellion against God, who banned them from heaven. Additionally, Scripture periodically mentions the Nephilim – which were giant offspring of these fallen demon-angels and humans. Now consider this… when the Nephilim died, where did their souls go? The Bible is very clear on what happens to us “fully human” beings when we die (death, judgment, eternity in God’s presence, or away from God)… but it doesn’t say anything about the souls of the Nephilim. Could these be the “spirits” that we know of as ghosts… the disembodied souls of half-fallen-angel-half-humans?

So, in light of these questions and Biblical certainties, the guys share their own stories of dealing with the supernatural and paranormal, including seeing things from out of this world, protective angels, nightmarish dreams, and even supernatural “healing” that Reikei experts claim are from themselves and not from God.

But, what about ghosts, UFO’s, Chupacabra, Sasquatch, or the like? Could these be beings sent from heaven or formerly fallen from heaven?

We do know, based on clear Biblical text, that they are not the spirits of dead people. They could be supernatural beings (angels, demons, etc.) who are imitating our loved ones, but as the guys discuss, the Bible is pretty clear of what happens to our spirits (souls) when we die. As Paul wrote:

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)
